I love Rachel. What a legend. Everyone needs a Rachel in their life that can be so freaking cool but be prepared to protect and enforce. I've also felt that sexism when I've worked on things. Like "you are a young girl, what do you know." Also racism because I'm Asian-American. I've gotten racist comments because they imagine me to be someone else by my voice and then they see me. Some people suck but I really hope touring gets easier for you and people actually listen to you. I'm sorry that anyone has to experience that.

I have had similar experiences (on a way smaller scale) touring with my band in my early 20s. Really dislike the “gentle” way we have to “kindly ask” for what we need at a performance to protect the fragile egos of those you need cooperation from at a gig. Wouldn’t it be great if they were just respectful and not ageist/sexist and you could just to TELL them what you needed and they would not try to contradict you and try to build themselves up by condescendingly implying you don’t know anything? That would be nice. Always tiptoeing on egg shells as a female front woman 🤦🏼‍♀️. I feel this 🙌🏻
