Being vegan is always a personal choice but I'm slowly learning about the different environmental impact from the vegan alternatives. There always seems to be a lot of confusion as sometimes the vegan options are not more environmentally friendly. (for example if the meat substitute cannot be produced in your country due to the climate, emissions from transport and shipping can be huge just to get it to you, let alone the impacts from actually producing it - so actually there would be less emissions if you bought locally sourced meat) (and also for 100ml of almond milk it takes 1 litre of water to produce enough almonds) I feel like there is a lot of confusion on both sides of the argument though. It's all very interesting though. I'm studying an animal science degree at university and its got a lot of content on nutrition, livestock production and global food security and its interesting to see what's going on in the food production world. apparently some places are looking into feeding cows on seaweed to reduce their methane emissions and feeding pigs on insects to help give them better protein content also meaning more grain goes to human food rather than pig food. From what I've learnt, people can be vegan for whatever reasons (animal welfare, personal preference, health issues) but when it come to doing it for the environment, its a really murky subjects because you can't just look at the emissions and impact of production from the meat industry, you have to look at the emissions and impact of production for the alternatives you are choosing Don't have a go at me, I'm just telling you what we are being taught by professors and lectures who's whole career is studying this stuff and then teaching it to us

I agree I think it's great to make vegan choices..even if you are not fully there yet.A lot goes into each and every animal product so cutting out just butter or using oat milk instead of cows milk matters! It took me about seven years,from when I first became a vegetarian,to fully give up animal products.

Colleen, I just watched your video with Mama Dr Jones on her channel and I made the comment over there, but since you won’t see it there, thought I’d make it here on the off-chance you see it. As someone that deals with severe chronic pain on a daily basis I feel I had to tell you that if you wanted to have a second baby but are seriously (and understandably) afraid of the pain, you may want to talk with a pain management specialist and if you get pregnant get under the care of a pain management specialist. There are tons of different ways to deal with chronic pain (and I say chronic pain in your case since you dealt with it chronically for almost a year). There are the typical things like narcotics, but there are also things like nerve blocks, epidurals (maybe a great option since it worked for you well during childbirth), local anesthetic, lidocaine IV infusions and many more. Lots of safe options and even options that aren’t “ideal” but that are still safe for the baby (like narcotics). My cousin had severe endometriosis and had severe chronic pain through her entire pregnancy because her uterus and intestines and other organs were literally fused together. Point being that the doctors told her she had to take narcotics daily for that entire pregnancy, and her baby was completely healthy and had no withdrawals. I feel your doctor did a horrendous job not acknowledging your pain, and not getting you pain management. I knew that you may look at having a second baby differently if you knew that your pain could probably be managed and more tolerable. So I just thought I’d chime in. It might be worth having a consultation with a pain management specialist just to go over your options and see how he could help if you did want to get pregnant again. He may be able to give you an idea of how he could manage your pain and make you feel comfortable with the idea of getting pregnant. I wouldn’t make the decision without talking to one of them if I was in your shoes. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

I’ve been vegan for a several years and constantly hear “I couldn’t go vegan because I can’t go without chocolate/bacon/cheese” and I just want to say, that’s good enough! If you try your best to eat vegan but still enjoy some chocolate in the evening and bacon on the odd morning then that’s just fine and you’re doing great, sweetie. 😊

I'm probably going to get blasted for this, but I'm...confused. you've said multiple times that pregnancy was the worst thing you've been through and that you never want to do it again, so...why even suggest that you're considering having another baby biologically?
